I understand there are different types of scholarship awarded by
UBD, can I be upgraded from my
current scholarship to a different scholarship during my studies? |
No. The
scholarship you are awarded with
will not be upgraded/changed
to a different scheme/scholarship. |

International student will be holding
a student pass
during their studies in UBD. Holders of student pass is not allowed to undertake
any form of employment. |
Can I bring my family with
me? |
Student pass is only for you as a student. Holders of this student pass are not allowed to bring any dependent (family) under Student pass. UBD will
not be issuing
any support letter
or assist in any arrangement in bringing a family member/dependent. |
I have
received an offer for August/January intake but I am unable to accept the offer for the
time being, can I postpone to another semester/year? |
Yes, you may choose to postpone (defer) your studies, however, your scholarship is only applicable for this intake and cannot be deferred. If you
choose to defer
to studies, then
your admission will
be converted to fee-paying
and the scholarship offer is no longer valid. |

UGS only: I have

what should I do next? |
For UGRS and UGS only: Once you have submitted all of the requested documents, our office will contact you to arrange for your flight ticket and Visa on Arrival (VOA) for your entry to Brunei. Please note that without VOA, you will not be allowed entry to
Brunei. We would like to inform
in advance that
VOA approval takes
around two months. |
For UGRS and UGS only: When do I
fly to Brunei? |
For UGRS and UGS only: Due to the time
needed for VOA approval, we expect to fly you sometime
in February – March 2023. |
For UBA only: I have
accepted the award,
what should I do next? |
For UBA only: After you have submitted your GS-13 Acceptance form and all of the requested documents, you are required to purchase your own ticket (flight ticket is not covered in UBA scholarship). We advise to purchase/book a ticket that is two months in advance to give ample time to get the approval for your Visa on Arrival (VOA). To request for your VOA, please submit a flight itinerary (a flight quotation via a travel agent would suffice) to us via email at office.graduate@ubd.edu.bn Note: -
Without VOA, you will
not be allowed entry
to Brunei. -
VOA application takes around
two months. In this regards, please book a flight date that is at least two months in
advance. |
I am provided
with accommodation in campus, how do I book for my room? |
You are provided with in campus accommodation under UBD Corporation. You are required to make your own room reservation directly to UBD Corporation using this link below: https://ubdcorp.servicedashboard.my/services/booking.php Your scholarship only covers room that is valued at BND$250 a month. If you choose to book a more expensive room, the remaining amount of the rent will be covered by yourself. If you choose a cheaper room, the remaining amount will not be given to you. Can I choose to stay outside
of UBD Campus? |
You may choose to live outside of UBD Campus, however your scholarship will not cover your rent as the scholarship will only cover the in campus accommodation by UBD Corporation. Please note that
UBD will not
assist in arranging alternative out of campus accommodation. |
How do I make
my way from Brunei International Airport
to UBD Campus? |
We advise to book for airport pick up from UBD Corporation. The airport pick up can be reserved by emailing reservation@ubdcorp.com. The rate
for the airport pick up is BND$30. Please
note that this
is not covered under your
scholarship. |
How do I check in to my room? |
You will be checking in to your room through the Front Desk located at The Core building. As the Front Desk is not open 24 hours, a staff will be assigned specifically during your flight arrival. In this regards, you are required to check in to your room immediately upon your arrival in Brunei Darussalam. |
